People Stories
Tomas
Project Manager
Back when I was in middle school and even high school, my mom would always nag me about sitting long hours in front of the computer screen, playing video games. She would always mention how “these games are just a useless waste of time and would never account for anything in my life“. It‘s funny, really, when in less than 5 years I‘ve become a Game Designer at Nordcurrent, and several years later even earned the Lead role. Ironically, video games did account to a huge part of my life, but now they‘re not only a source of income but a way of self-expression and improvement.

Rokas
Game Designer
Who runs the world? In fact, as a game designer, Rokas creates the universe. "I'm the one who determines the rules for the games we make. It is just fun and games until you realize... it literally is. I'm in charge of bringing two worlds together: art and programming. The best way to achieve it is to enjoy gaming. It will always be my passion. Yet, one must also like the creative aspect of the job. For me, the breakthrough came from the board game "Dungeons and Dragons".
I came up with an intriguing game storyline, and it was the start of endless discoveries"

Greta
Data Analyst
Greta cracks numbers like a "Murder in the Alps" detective. Or maybe she is one? Greta assists game designers in addressing flaws in their games with a single line of data. She doesn't need a cheat code to figure out what's gone wrong. Instead, she develops an entire system of game performance metrics. Greta uses her analytical talent and creative vision to provide eye-catching insights that empower our game designers with upgrades.

Normantas
Lead Programmer
The programmer isn’t a hacker sitting in his/her basement. Each time, I debunk the myth, I'm in charge of bringing everyone else's work together into a cohesive whole. Artists create characters, while designers figure out how they should function. I'm integrating their concepts and incorporating them into our games.
I joined the studio during my studies at university and learned everything I know since then. My coworkers greatly helped me in accomplishing tasks. I learned about the various processes that work behind the scenes. For a user, playing a game it is a pleasurable experience. Meanwhile, a programmer must deal with a million of micro processes. Yet, I'm the first to see the finished result. That is what thrills me the most.

Sergi
Lead Artist
They say that artists should have a special talent, but I believe a spark is what's most important. I make the characters you see and color them like they're in a comic book. I am happy. My work can be seen all over the world. Prior to this, I worked as a freelancer, which is not the same as working in a studio. Finally, I stopped constantly worrying about finding a job. Instead, I stay curious while working. We spend a lot of time studying and playing with others. It's a way for us to learn. Drawing sketches, playing table tennis, and reading during lunch breaks all contribute to my professional development.

Andrea
Game producer
My career goal has been clear since high school—join a great gaming company and create games, that are played by millions. The gaming industry has no national boundaries. I chose a place more than 1700 km away from my home in Italy and ended up in the Lithuanian gaming studio Nordcurrent. Working at the company is an incredible experience because everyone here is so skilled and committed to developing excellent games. The culture and coworkers here motivate me to stay on top of my game and always give 110%.

Tomas
Motion Designer
I create mini-films that are only up to a minute long and are used to advertise our games. With the right tools and a bit of knowledge, it’s enough to make it work.
However, the most valuable lesson I learned was a bit earlier. After graduating from Vilnius Tech, I discovered that a successful video producer is a part of all worlds. A scriptwriter, artist, editor, and animator in one package. It's a job that requires creative problem-solving. As a motion designer myself, I am always looking for new and exciting challenges.

Julija
Senior Support
How many letters do you respond to daily? Every day, Julija responds to approximately 120 of them! And even though none of them was sent by an owl from Hogwarts (yet). Julija, a senior #support at Nordcurrent, is the best at helping our players achieve success and satisfaction in all of our games. "An expert in support must have a great sense of humor and empathy. Everyone in the studio seems to have it back. I felt like I was joining a caring family when I first joined Nordcurrent. I came here with no prior experience in the game industry, and my coworkers were extremely helpful in my learning process"
